Bulgaria’s Pleven municipality to get 14.2 mln euro for waste management system

SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 28 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s Pleven municipality will receive a EU grant of 43.2 million levs ($18.3 million/14.2 million euro) for the construction of a regional waste management system, the environment ministry said on Wednesday.

The project will be financed from EU-funded operational program Environment and the contract will be signed on Thursday, the ministry said in a statement.

The project includes the construction of a waste depot, an installation for separation and a composting facility, among others.

The waste management system will service 186,477 people from six municipalities in the Pleven region.

Pleven is located in northern Bulgaria.
