Bulgaria's Petrol turns to 9-mo cons net loss

November 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET] said it posted a consolidated net loss of 5.1 million levs ($2.9 million/2.6 million euro) in January-September, compared to a consolidated net profit, excluding minority interest, of 6.9 million levs in the prior-year period.

Petrol's operating revenue in the first nine months of 2023 dropped to some 439.6 million levs from 568.4 million levs in the same period last year, the company said in an interim financial statement on Wednesday.

Sales of goods generated 432.4 million levs in the review period, down from 553.2 million levs in the like period of 2022.

The company's expenses narrowed to 444.8 million levs in the nine months through September from roughly 561 million levs a year earlier, as costs for goods sold fell by an annual 23% to 392.9 million levs.

The group operates over 300 filling stations in Bulgaria. It is comprised of 19 subsidiaries mostly active in fuel trading and storage.

As of 1500 CET on Thursday, shares in Petrol traded 2.12% higher at 0.386 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
