No annual increases were recorded in the output of any of the energy product categories monitored, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a regular data release.
Solid fuels marked the largest annual drop in output, at 48.8% to 1.56 million tonnes, as well as the biggest monthly fall, at 27.4%.
Meanwhile, liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) posted the highest monthly rise in output, at 33.3% to 4,000 tonnes, but sank by 42.9% in annual terms.
Bulgaria's overall output of oil products fell by 19% year-on-year to 523,000 tonnes in January and was also 7.8% lower than a month earlier.
In terms of energy products deliveries, petrol recorded the biggest annual increase, at 420% to 52,000 tonnes. It also represented the highest monthly rise, at 36.8%.
Solid fuels registered the steepest annual decline, at 44.1% to some 1.63 million tonnes, along with the largest monthly fall, at 27.7%.
Overall deliveries of oil products were 4.5% higher than in December and 7.8% higher compared to January 2023, at 347,000 tonnes, the data from NSI showed.
