October 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] halted operations at its unit for production of nitric acid due to a technical malfunction, it said on Wednesday.
The company expects to resolve the issue in the shortest possible time, it said in a stock exchange filing.
The emergency occurred in the evening of October 18, shortly after Neochim resumed operations at its nitric acid and ammonium nitrate units following annual maintenance works.
Production of ammonia and ammonium bicarbonate will be restarted within a month as planned, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
As at CEST 1028, shares in Neochim traded 0.99% lower at 40 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
