Bulgaria's Monbat reports 14.2% fall in cons pre-tax profit from ongoing ops

SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian battery maker Monbat [BUL:5MB] said on Tuesday that its consolidated profit before taxes from ongoing operations fell by 14.2% to 10.1 million levs ($6.1 million/5.2 million euro) in the first nine months of the year.

The company's reported results exclude its discontinued LED lighting operations.

Monbat’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by an annual 2.7% to 27.8 million levs in the January-September period of 2020, the battery maker said in a statement.

The company’s consolidated net sales revenue fell 5.7% to 218.2 million levs in the first nine months of 2020.

In September alone, Monbat's consolidated profit before taxes from ongoing operations rose 6.3% to 1.9 million levs supported by a 3.1% increase in sales, to 28.1 million levs.
