November 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian textile company Mak [BUL:MAK] said that its standalone net profit plunged to 905,000 levs ($450,760/462,700 euro) in the first nine months of 2022 from 4.84 million levs in the comparable period of last year as a result of lower income.
The company’s revenue fell to 20.97 million levs in the January-September period from 32.6 million levs a year earlier, Mak said in an interim financial statement on Monday.
Sales abroad plunged to 7.2 million levs from 19.2 million levs, while domestic sales climbed slightly to 13.1 million levs from 12.1 million levs, the financial statement showed.
In parallel, Mak was able to narrow its expenses to 20 million levs from 27.7 million levs as it halved costs of goods sold to 8.3 million levs from 16.99 million levs.
Shares in Mak last traded at 31.20 on the BaSE market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, bourse data show.
Gabrovo-based Mak specialises in the production of police, firefighter and military uniforms. It has a portfolio of over 400 products, including healthcare garments.
