December 5 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) per person employed in Bulgaria increased by an annual 3% to 8,619.2 levs ($4,888/4,407 euro) in the third quarter of 2019, the statistical office said on Thursday, citing preliminary data.
Gross value added (GVA) per person employed rose by a real 3.1%, while GVA per hour worked grew by an annual 3.0% in real terms in the July-September period of 2019, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
GVA per person employed in the industrial sector was 7,971 levs in the review period. In the services sector, an average of 7,761.3 levs gross value added was generated by a person employed. The lowest labour productivity was recorded in the agricultural sector - 2,513.2 levs.
A total of 3.69 million people were employed in the country's economy at the end of the second quarter, according to NSI. The total number of hours worked was 1.48 billion.
