December 7 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) per person employed in Bulgaria increased by 1.7% on the year to 12,152 levs ($6,511/6,213 euro) in the third quarter of 2022, the statistical office said on Wednesday, citing preliminary data.
Gross value added (GVA) per person employed and GVA per hour worked also increased in real terms in the July-September period, by 2.1% and 3.3%, respectively, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
GVA per person employed in the industrial sector amounted to 12,222.5 levs in the review period. In the service sector, an average of 10,437.8 levs gross value added was generated by each person employed. Labour productivity remained the lowest in the agricultural sector at 5,904.8 levs per employee in the third quarter.
Some 3.7 million people were employed in Bulgaria's economy at the end of the review period, with the total number of hours worked amounting to 1.457 billion.
