At the end of last month, there were 165,585 registered unemployed people in the country, or 255 fewer than in January, the government agency said in a monthly report, based on population numbers from the 2021 census.
In February alone, the agency registered 19,910 jobless people, or 25% fewer than in January.
A total of 12,484 unemployed people started work with the help of labour offices in the month under review, up by 1,141 from January. Of them, the largest share, or 15.8%, found jobs in the manufacturing industry, whereas trade followed with 14.6%.
There were 10,494 job vacancies on the primary labour market in February, compared to 10,037 a month earlier, the report added. The highest percentage of vacancies was reported in the manufacturing industry - 23.4%, followed by trade with 13%, hospitality and catering with 12.6%, public administration with 11.7%, agriculture, forestry and fisheries with 7% and administrative and auxiliary activities with 6.8%.
