Bulgaria's jobless rate edges up to 4.4% in Nov

December 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's registered unemployment rate inched up to 4.4% in November from 4.3% in October, the Employment Agency said, adding that the value for November is a historic low for this month.

On an annual comparison basis, the jobless rate fell by 0.4 pp in November, the government agency said in a monthly report.

At the end of month, there were 145,431 registered unemployed people in the country, which represented a rise of 3,444 people from the level in October.

The agency registered 23,744 unemployed people in November alone, which is by 1,738 lower than in October and by 906 lower than in November 2021.

In the month under review, 11,416 unemployed people started work with the help of labour offices. Of them, the largest share, or 19.2%, found jobs in the manufacturing industry. Trade followed with 13.4%.

According to the data, there were 8,439 job vacancies on the primary labour market in November. The largest percentage of vacancies was reported in the manufacturing industry - 28.9%, followed by trade with 13.6%, public administration with 10.2%, education with 8.1%, hospitality and catering with 7.7% and administrative and auxiliary activities with 7%.
