January 24 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian chocolate and confectionery producer Interion has invested over 10 million levs ($5.56 million/5.11 million euro) to become the sole producer of chocolate spread NuCrema, the economy ministry said.
Interion will produce the entirety of the brand in Bulgaria and export the products, the ministry said in a statement last week.
Kostinbrod-based Interion was founded in 2001 with the help of Greece's Interia, a subsidiary of Greek chocolate and confectionery producer ION. The company makes hazelnut, cocoa and white cream spreads under the brand NuCrema and is also the sole distributor of ION products in Bulgaria.
