In monthly terms, the industrial PPI edged down by 0.9% in October, chiefly due to a 4.3% price drop in the mining and quarrying industry sector and a 1.2% decline in manufacturing, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a monthly report.
Producer prices on the domestic market shed 25.9% year-on-year last month, following a 32% decrease in September. The decline was driven by a 47.9% plunge in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply prices. Producer prices on the non-domestic market lost 7.8% on the year in October.
On an annual comparison basis, the most significant price growth in Bulgaria's manufacturing industry was observed in the making of tobacco products - by 44.4%, and of computer, electronic and optical products - by 20.6%. Domestic producer prices in the manufacture of tobacco products jumped by 58.6% year-on-year.
