Bulgaria's industrial output falls 7.6% y/y in March

May 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's industrial production index went down by an annual 7.6% in March after shedding a revised 7.9% in February, the statistical office said on Friday, citing preliminary and seasonally-adjusted data.

On a monthly comparison basis, Bulgaria's industrial output slipped by 1% in the third month of 2024, following a revised rise of 0.2% in February, the National Statistical Office (NSI) said in a monthly report.

All three main industrial sectors posted annual declines in their production rates in the review month, with mining and quarrying output losing the most - 21.8%, followed by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply with a 9.1% drop.

In monthly terms, production in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell by 5.5%, while in manufacturing it was 1.2% lower. At the same time, output in the mining and quarrying industry grew by 1.2% month-on-month.
