Bulgaria's Haskovo to buy 5 new e-buses, 6 charging stations with EU funding

December 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Haskovo municipality, will receive 5 million levs ($2.8 million/2.5 million euro) in EU funding under operational programme Environment 2014-2020 for the purchase of five new electric buses and six charging stations, the environment ministry said.

Total investment in the project, which is expected to improve air quality in Haskovo municipality, in south-central Bulgaria, amounts to 6 million levs, the ministry said in a statement last week.

The project also envisages the construction of necessary infrastructure needed for charging of the electric public transport vehicles.

The delivery of the buses is planned to be completed within 33 months.
