Gross external debt at the end of the first nine months of 2023 was equivalent to 46% of the gross domestic product (GDP) planned for the current year, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a monthly report.
In comparison, Bulgaria's foreign debt equalled 51.4% of last year's GDP in September 2022.
At some 9.085 billion euro in the review period, the general government gross foreign debt widened by 8.1% compared to end-Septrmber last year and was equal to 9.5% of the projected 2023 GDP.
