Bulgaria's Elhim Iskra swings to 10-mo loss, revenue up 15% y/y

November 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian car battery manufacturer Elhim Iskra [BUL:ELHM] said on Monday that it closed the first ten months of 2022 with a preliminary loss of 256,000 levs ($134,189/130,890 euro).

Elhim Iskra recorded sales of about 37.6 million levs between January and October, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

These figures compare to a preliminary gross profit of 739,000 levs on revenue of some 32.5 million levs in the ten months through October 2021, according to previously disclosed financial data.

Last month alone, the car battery maker generated a preliminary profit of 52,000 levs on sales of 3.9 million levs, Elhim Iskra said in the filing. In October 2021, Elhim Iskra posted a loss of 163,000 levs on revenue of 3.4 million levs.

Looking ahead, the company expects to book a revenue of 4.3 million levs in November, which would be an increase of 26.5% year-on-year.

Shares in Elhim Iskra closed flat at 0.615 levs when the company last traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange on Friday.

Elhim Iskra is part of local diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH]. The Pazardzhik-based company exports over 90% of its output.
