The only other yearly fall was registered in the production of solid fuels, of 41.6% to some 1.16 million tonnes, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a regular data release. Solid fuels output was, however, 16.9% higher than a month earlier.
The highest annual and monthly output rise, at 60%, was posted by liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), reaching 8,000 tonnes.
Bulgaria's overall output of oil products surged by 46.7% on the year to 622,000 tonnes in March, which was also 14.5% more month-on-month.
In terms of energy products deliveries, solid fuels recorded the steepest annual fall, at 34.2% to 1.2 million tonnes, which represented a monthly jump of 16.3%.
On an annual basis, deliveries increased the most for diesel, by 31.1% to 215,000 tonnes. Diesel deliveries also posted the highest monthly growth, at 20.1%.
Deliveries of oil products were 16.1% higher than in February and 15.7% higher compared to March 2023, at 368,000 tonnes, the data from NSI showed.
