"I have tried to include experts in the cabinet that I will present, so that we have continuity and a politically balanced government. The main task of the caretaker government will be to guarantee fair elections. However, this does not mean that it will stop working in the other areas," Glavchev said, as seen in a video posted by business daily Dnevnik.

Glavchev was named caretaker prime minister after three parliament groups failed to put together a new government to succeed the rotation government of GERB-UDF and WCC-DB following the collapse of their power-sharing deal.

Under the country's Constitution, the president, following consultations with parliamentary groups and based on Glavchev's proposal, should appoint a caretaker government and schedule new elections within two months.

In the proposed caretaker government, Lyudmila Petkova, director of the tax policy directorate at the finance ministry, will replace Assen Vassilev as minister of finance, while Petko Nikolov will serve as minister of economy and industry, succeeding Bogdan Bogdanov to the post.

Kiril Vatev, Georgi Gvozdeykov and Galin Tsokov will remain ministers of agriculture, transport and education, respectively.
