Bulgaria's Central Cooperative Bank grows 9-mo non-cons net profit, revenue

October 31 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) [BUL:6C4] said that its non-consolidated net profit rose to 34.7 million levs ($19.8 million/17.7 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019 from 21.8 million levs in the same period of 2018.

CCB's net interest income grew to 88.9 million levs in the January-September period of 2019 from 82.7 million levs in the same period of last year, the company said in an interim financial statement on Wednesday.

The lender's net fee and commission income edged up to 34.4 million levs in the review period from 33.3 million levs the year before.

The bank's operating expenses increased to 95.5 million levs in the first nine months of 2019 from 88.0 million levs in the prior-year period.

CCB's assets amounted to 5.87 billion levs at the end of September, up from 5.62 billion levs at the end of 2018.

Net loans and advances to customers rose to 2.36 billion levs at the end of September from 2.26 billion levs at the end of last year, while deposits from customers other than banks increased to 5.21 billion levs from 5.01 billion levs.

CCB was Bulgaria's eight largest lender by assets at the end of August, according to the most recent central bank data.

As at 10:00 CET on Thursday, CCB shares traded 1.27% higher at 1.6 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
