The investment plan aligns with BlackPeak's commitment to support innovative companies making a positive economic, social and environmental impact in the region and follows its prior 15 million euro financial injection into Slovenian medical and lifestyle DNA test provider GenePlanet, the private equity firm said in a press release.
"We have a very positive experience investing in Slovenia and also interacting with all participants from the local ecosystem. Slovenia is home to truly innovative companies, who are not afraid to compete on a global scale and we feel honoured and excited that we can partner with some of them," BlackPeak Capital managing partner Niklas Pichler said.
BlackPeak's Southeast Europe Growth Equity Fund, which closed in 2022 at 126 million euro, is based in Luxembourg and is backed by the European Investment Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, Slovenian pension funds and insurance companies, along with other European private institutional investors. It is investing growth equity tickets of 5 to 15 million euro in dynamic SMEs in Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.
BlackPeak Capital, founded in 2014, has total assets under management of 160 million euro. Last month, the firm invested 13.3 million levs in Bulgarian software and IT services group Bianor Holding as part of Bianor's 20 million levs capital increase.
