Bulgaria's BDZ Passengers signs deal for repair of 7 electric locomotives

October 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's BDZ Passengers, part of state-owned railway group BDZ Holding, said on Thursday that it has signed a 3.4 million levs ($1.9 million/1.7 million euro) deal with local Railway - Traction for the repair of seven electric locomotives.

The contract was signed on September 18, BDZ Passengers said in a notice.

Four bidders took part in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.

Last month, BDZ Passengers said that it will temporarily stop servicing 14 routes due to an insufficient number of functioning locomotives. The company is expected to start servicing the routes again as of October 19.
