In quarterly terms, the average gross monthly wage climbed by 3.5% in the review period, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a quarterly report.
Remunerations in other service activities and accommodation and food service activities showed the highest annual increase in January-March, at 24.4%, followed by real estate activities with 21.5% and construction with 20.7%.
The highest average wage in the first quarter, at 5,252 levs, was registered in the information and communications sector. It was followed by financial and insurance activities with 3,395 levs. Accommodation and food service activities, on the other hand, had the lowest gross wage, at 1,366 levs.
On an annual comparison basis, the average monthly wages both in the public and private sectors went up 16.8%, the NSI said.
