Bulgaria’s Albena wastewater treatment plant to get 16.6 mln euro upgrade

SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 9 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian municipality of Balchik said on Tuesday it has received 32.5 million levs ($21.5 million/16.6 million euro) for the modernisation of a plant that treats wastewater from the nearby Albena resort and the village of Kranevo.

The financing is provided from EU-funded operational program Environment, the municipality said in a statement.

The rehabilitation is planned to be completed by July 2014.

The municipality of Balchik is located on Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast.
