Bulgaria's 9-mo supplementary pension funds' net assets rise 25.3%

November 12 (SeeNews) - The combined net assets of Bulgaria's supplementary pension funds rose by 25.3% on the year to 5.43 billion levs ($3.52 billion/2.78 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2012, the country's financial watchdog said.

The nine pension funds active in the country recorded a combined net financial result of over 34.37 million levs in the nine months through September, the Financial Supervision Commission said in a statement on Friday. It provided no comparative figures.

The funds' total revenue was up by an annual 16.7% to some 86 million levs in the January-September period.

The overall number of Bulgarians with pension insurance plans was 4.07 million at the end of September, up 2.77% from a year earlier.
