November 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's current account deficit through September widened to a preliminary 15.8% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2008 from 13.5% of GDP in the same period a year earlier, central bank data showed on Friday.
The country's current account deficit rose to 5.381 billion euro ($6.743 billion) in the first nine months of 2008 from 3.900 billion euro a year earlier, the central bank said in a statement.
In September alone, Bulgaria had a current account deficit of 535.5 million euro versus a deficit of 541.8 million euro in September 2007.
The central bank has revised the current account gap figure for the first nine months of 2007 to 13.5% of GDP from an earlier 13.8% of GDP.
