December 11 (SeeNews) - Spanish passenger trains manufacturer Talgo and CRRC Qingdao Sifang, a unit of Chinese state-owned rolling stock manufacturer CRCC, have submitted offers in a public tender worth some 1.2 billion levs ($660.1 million/613.6 million euro) for the procurement and 15-year maintenance of 20 single-deck electric push-pull train sets, the ministry of transport said.
The offer submitted by Talgo is worth about 1.22 billion levs for trains with a minimum of 383 seats and a 36-month warranty, the ministry of transport said in tender documents published on the public procurement register's website on Friday.
Rival CRCC Qingdao tabled a bid of 607.2 million levs for the supply of trains with 406 seats in total and a 60-month warranty period.
The tender was launched by the transport ministry in September, as part of 2.72 billion levs worth of public procurement procedures to upgrade the country's rolling stock.
A separate tender for the supply of 35 single-deck electric trains was suspended in October due to a complaint by Czech engineering group Skoda Transportation.
