SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 9 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s wheat crop this year totals four million tons, preliminary data of the Agriculture Ministry showed on Monday.
The country's grain balance is secured, Deputy Agriculture Minister Tsvetan Dimitrov was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the ministry.

Bulgaria has also harvested some 847,000 tones of barley, 1.27 million tones of maize and 1.3 million tons of sunflower seed this year.
According to data of the country’s customs agency, so far this year Bulgaria has exported 8,404 tonnes of wheat from the 2009 crop and 1.3 million tones from last year's harvest.
Bulgaria has also shipped abroad this year over 276,200 tons of barley, 180,000 tonnes of maize and 342,000 tonnes of sunflower seed.
All export data covers non-EU countries.
In 2008, Bulgaria harvested 4.4 million tonnes of wheat, a four-year high and twice as much as the country needs to meet domestic demand.
