Bulgarian Wine, Spirits Maker Vinprom Peshtera Opens 2.6 Mln Euro Plant

November 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian wine and spirits maker Vinprom Peshtera on Thursday opened a five million lev ($3.2 million/2.6 million euro) plant in Peshtera, southern Bulgaria.

"The investment exceeds five million levs," the company's executive director Ivan Papazov told SeeNews after the opening of the plant. Vinprom Peshtera plans more investments, he added without elaborating.

No information about the plant's production capacity was immediately available.

The plant is equipped with three production lines. It is built on a total area of 6,000 square metres, of which 3,500 square metres of built-up area, including 1,500 square metres of office space and 1,000 of production space, Papazov told reporters.

Vinprom Peshtera has 1,500 hectares of vineyards.

Vinprom Peshtera (www.peshtera.com) exports various types of spirits and wines to 30 countries, including Japan, the U.S., European Union members, the former Soviet republics and neighbouring countries. The company's investments so far total 76 million levs.
