January 9 (SeeNews) - With a 1.14% rise to 767.21 points, the blue-chip SOFIX index posted the biggest gain out of the five Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), which all finished the session with positive results, bourse data showed on Tuesday.
The SOFIX was boosted by a 4.83% climb in energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] to 1.52 levs but with a weak volume of 500. Additionally, bourse operator Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSE] was lifted 4.00% to 13.00 levs.
Financial leasing company Elana Agrocredit [BUL:EAC] was the main SOFIX decliner on the day, slipping 1.87% to 1.05 levs.
Eurohold Bulgaria and Bulgarian Stock Exchange also helped the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, to notch up 0.17% to 799.15 points. The index's progress was limited by a 2.72% decline in software developer Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SGH] to 0.715 levs.
By contrast, the wider BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, made a larger gain, of 0.70% to 158.48 points. This was due to a 5.82% jump in civil engineering contractor Trace Group Hold [BUL:T57] to 4.00 levs as well as a 5.07% advance in aluminium producer Alcomet [BUL:ALCM] to 7.25 levs, both with small trading volumes. Furthermore, Synergon Holding [BUL:SNRG] went up 4.95% to 1.06 levs.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, was driven up by a 1.54% increase in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] to 2.64 levs. The BGREIT added 0.19% to 193.78 points.
As for the BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, it ticked up 0.45% to 102.46 points, as a result of a 3.11% climb in organic foods producer and distributor Smart Organic [BUL:SO] to 19.90 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange decreased to 1.06 million levs ($592,772/541,969 euro) on Tuesday from some 1.89 million levs on Monday.
Medical supplies manufacturer Etropal [BUL:ETR] contributed the largest individual turnover, of 63,848 levs. Etropal closed flat at 4.60 levs after 13,880 shares changed hands.
