Bulgarian stock indices end winning streak

SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 16 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian share indices closed slightly lower or remained flat on Tuesday, ending a three-day winning streak, bourse data showed.

The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), closed at 326.45 points, little changed from 326.46 points on Monday.

The broader BG40, which includes the 40 most traded shares, edged down 0.01% to 117.78 points on Tuesday after gaining 0.67% in the previous trading session.

Total turnover on the regulated market fell to 617,070 levs ($411,000/316,000 euro) from 1.5 million levs on Monday.

Two of the nine SOFIX members that were traded on Tuesday advanced, five fell and two ended flat.

Industrial group Chimimport [BUL:6C4] led the SOFIX gainers for a second session in a row, closing 4.74% higher at 0.82 levs as 3,123 shares changed hands.

Mineral extracting and processing company Kaolin [BUL:6K1] was the only blue-chip decliner, closing 2.92% lower at 2.62 levs in a volume of 110 shares.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, ended 0.14% lower at 80.61 points after rising by 0.72% on Monday.

The BG TotalReturn30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, remained flat at 251.98 points following a 0.89% increase in the previous trading session.

The CGIX Corporate Governance index, which includes companies strictly applying corporate governance principles, ended 0.56% lower at 76.77 points. It gained 1.22% on Monday.
