September 30 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange BGREIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, ended a second consecutive trading session at an all-time high closing value.
The BGREIT advanced 0.26% to a record high of 128.08 points on Monday, topping its high of 127.75 points set in the preceding trading session.
The index was backed by a 4.58% increase in the share price of Aktiv Properties REIT [BUL:5AX] and a 0.26% rise in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6] on Friday.
Diversified group Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] and financial and insurance holding company Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:4EH] suffered bruising losses on Monday, dragging the other major stock indices in Sofia to red territory.
Holding Varna shares dropped 4.57% to 37.6 levs, while Eurohold Bulgaria shares erased 2.11% to 1.86 levs on Monday.
The blue-chip SOFIX index closed the session 0.70% at 570.58 points.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, decreased 0.33% to 113.44 points, while the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, edged down 0.07% to 507.30 points.
Total regulated market trading turnover soared to 4.5 million levs ($2.5 million/2.3 million euro) on Monday from 519,000 levs on Friday.
