June 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's utilities regulator said it approved a proposal by public supplier Bulgargaz for a wholesale natural gas price of 59.55 levs ($33.04/30.45 euro) per MWh applicable for June, excluding transmission fees, excise tax and VAT, which is 8.87% higher than in May.

In June, Bulgaria will receive natural gas from Azerbaijan via the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said in a statement over the weekend. The quantity will cover nearly 81% of the country's consumption this month.

The remaining 19% will be covered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries through a contract Bulgargaz signed with a regional trader, EWRC said last week.

In May, the wholesale price of natural gas in Bulgaria was 54.70 levs per MWh, down by 7% as compared to the previous month, according to a separate statement by the regulator.
