April 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's utilities regulator said on Monday that it has endorsed a final price proposal by public supplier Bulgargaz for a wholesale natural gas price of 58.84 levs ($32.52/30.08 euro) per MWh applicable for April, excluding transmission fees, excise tax and VAT, which is 2.17% higher than in March.

In April, Bulgaria will receive natural gas from three different sources, including the entire contracted volumes of Caspian gas from Azerbaijan via the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said in a statement. The quantity will cover 51.07% of the country's consumption this month.

Bulgargaz will also receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) for April through a contract with one regional trader and will make use of quantities injected in the underground gas storage facility Chiren.

The wholesale price of natural gas in Bulgaria in March was 57.59 levs per MWh after the regulator approved a 19% monthly cut last month, according to a separate statement.

The natural gas price for April is slightly lower than the 58.90 levs per MWh forecast by the public supplier. The current price was formed after taking into account international gas market quotations up to March 31.
