SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 18 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP-New Build, a unit of the country's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) in Kozloduy, has appointed Lyuben Marinov as a managing director of the company, local media reported on Thursday.

Bulgarian NPP unit gets new head - media

The change will take effect after it is entered into the Bulgarian commercial register, online media investor.bg said, quoting data from the register.

Marinov held the same position between June 2012 and August 2013, the media said.

Kozloduy NPP-New Build was set up in May 2012 for the construction of a new reactor at the NPP.

The Kozloduy NPP remained with two operational reactors of 1,000 MW each after the country closed down four units of 440 MW each to address nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to its accession to the bloc. Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007. In April 2012, the government decided to add another 1,000 MW unit to the plant.
