Non-life insurers' gross written premiums (GWP) rose to 2.21 billion levs in the period under review from 2.0 billion levs a year earlier, the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) said in a data release.
At the end of September, there were 23 non-life insurance companies active in Bulgaria.
With gross premiums of 342.5 million levs, Euroins was the biggest player on the Bulgarian insurance market. It was followed by Lev Ins with gross premiums of 297.6 million levs. The two companies had market shares of 15.53% and 13.49%, respectively, at the end of September, after 12.68% and 12.88% a year earlier.
Total assets of the non-life insurers in Bulgaria increased to 5.56 billion levs at the end of September from 5.29 billion levs a year earlier, the data showed.
