SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 26 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian clothes company Markam expects an up to 40% rise to some 800,000 euro ($1.17 million) in the sales of its own branded products next winter and spring, the company's CEO said on Friday.

Bulgarian Clothes Company Markam Eyes 40% Rise in Own Brand Sales in Winter-Spring

In the last few years Markam had a steady 30-40% sales rise of products under its own brand, Kamen Obreshkov told SeeNews.

The company has awarded a franchise deal to Romania's Eurtrop Consulting for six monobrand boutiques in Bulgaria’s northern neighbour by 2010, he added.

Markam (www.markam.com) has postponed plans to step into the North American market due to the complicated global economic situation but is considering expansion to Turkey and Greece. The company, which exports its output to a number of countries in central and eastern Europe, will also seek options to market its products in Sweden, France, UK and Poland.

Markam, based in the Danube port of Ruse, has a staff of some 400. It opened a new factory in 2006.
