December 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's business sentiment index fell 2.3 percentage points on the month in December, after rising by 0.4 points in November, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said on Monday.
The December sub-index for the construction sector remained unchanged from the previous month. Overall, managers continue to expect a fall in prices over the next three months.
The retail sub-index lost 3.2 points in December due to the managers' pessimistic assessments and expectations about the business situation. The main barrier to the companies' activity remains the uncertain economic situation. Managers in the sector expect no change in prices.
The index gauging the business climate in the services sector lost 5.5 percentage points due to the managers' more pessimistic assessments for the business situation over the next six months. Overall, they expect prices to remain unchanged in the next three months.
The December industry sub-index lost 1.3 percentage points due to the managers' worsened assessments of the present business situation, but they expect no change in prices. Managers continue to consider the present economic situation uncertain.
