Some 200 million levs of the total will benefit local medium-sized enterprises, while 68 million levs are intended for production capacity measures, Borissov said in a video file published on the website of public TV channel BNT on Thursday.

According to Borissov, the labour ministry and the economy ministry have jointly invested over 1 billion levs in Bulgaria's economy since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis.

The government imposed a two-month state of emergency in March when the first cases of the coronavirus disease were registered in Bulgaria. The state of emergency was later replaced by a state of epidemic emergency which is expected to remain in force until the end of November.
