The crop will be reaped from over 1.1 million hectares put to wheat, which translates into an average yield of more than 5,000 kilograms per ha, and 160,000 ha put to barley, the minister said in a press release.

Tachov noted that grain silos in the country currently have about 80% free capacity.

In 2023, Bulgaria harvested some 6.59 million tonnes of wheat, which represented an annual rise of 3.9% due to a higher average yield, according to previously disclosed information.
