November 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday that it has approved a draft agreement for the purchase of two minehunter ships from the Netherlands for a total of 2 million euro ($2.2 million), VAT excluded.
The acquisition will improve the capabilities of the Bulgarian Navy to ensure the security of the country's territorial waters, the government said in a statement following its weekly meeting.
Bulgaria's defence minister is due to hold talks and sign an agreement with the Netherlands, which will then be subject to ratification by parliament.
