Bulgaria reports 31 cases of African swine fever in wild boar in Nov

SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s Food Safety Agency said on Friday that it confirmed 31 cases of African swine fever in wild boar in November.

The largest number of cases - 19, was registered in Yambol region, followed by Haskovo region and Vidin region with four cases and three cases, respectively, the Food Safety Agency said in a statement.

Two cases were confirmed in Gabrovo region and one in each of the regions of Burgas, Sofia and Stara Zagora.

The agency said earlier that it confirmed 23 cases of African swine fever in wild boar in October, with 10 of them registered in Yambol region.

The hunting season for wild boar started on October 3 in Bulgaria.
