December 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's seasonally-adjusted industrial output went up by 5.8% year-on-year in October, the strongest growth among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE), the European statistical office said on Wednesday.
Industrial production in the EU as a whole rose by 3.7% in annual terms in October, Eurostat said in a monthly report.
Ireland, Denmark and Malta showed the highest increases of 53.2%, 10.7% and 7.2%, respectively.
Among the EU member states in SEE, slight rises were registered in Romania and Slovenia, while Croatia and Greece showed declines.
In monthly terms, Bulgaria's industrial output fell by 2% in October, compared with an EU average decline of 1.9%. Notably, Bulgaria demonstrated the highest decrease among the five EU members from SEE.
Of the SEE members, only Greece showed a slight month-on-month rise of 0.5% in industrial production.
