The financing will be provided as part of the operational programme Regions in Growth 2014 - 2020, the ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

Basically, the programme, which includes EU financing and national co-funding, supports projects in the field of regional development, education, healthcare and social policy.

According to the statement, 73% of the programme’s budget, or 2.29 billion levs, has already been paid out.

On November 15, the government submitted for EU approval the new Regions in Growth 2021 - 2027 programme.
