The French company was ranked first out of twelve international businesses which submitted letters of intent to participate in the tender, Bulgargaz said in a statement on Monday. The remaining bidders were not disclosed.
A requirement for participation in the tender that took place earlier this month was that the LNG originates from countries on which no sanctions, embargoes or other trade restrictions have been imposed.
Bulgargaz plans to take delivery of the specified amount of LNG in March at the Revithoussa terminal in Greece, where it has booked a slot, it said.
TotalEnergies has been active in the LNG market for nearly 40 years, operating a full value chain from production to distribution.
