Bucharest Bourse CEO To Become Alpha Bank Romania Vice-President as of Jan 1 - Media

December 24 (SeeNews) - The CEO and president of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, Stere Farmache, will be Alpha Bank Romania’s first vice-president as of January 1, Bucharest-based daily Ziarul Financiar reported on Wednesday.

Ziarul Financiar quoted Farmache as saying his main responsibilities at Alpha Bank will include investment banking, the treasury and corporate banking.

Last week Farmache said he will step down as BVB CEO on January 1 as part of restructuring plans prior to the bourse's listing but will stay as BVB president.

Anca Dumitru, one of BVB's deputy directors general will serve as the acting CEO for six months.

Alpha Bank Romania's operated through a network of 173 branches as of end September. Its nine-month profit before tax rose by 105% on the year to 47.8 million euro ($66.9 million), its owner, Greece's Alpha Bank has said.
