Bosnia’s Sparkasse Bank H1 net profit rises 39%

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 7 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s Sparkasse Bank said on Friday its net profit rose to 4.252 million Bosnian marka ($2.8 million/ 2.2 million euro) in the first half of 2012 from 3.053 million marka a year ago.

Net interest and similar income rose to 18.2 million marka in the first half from 16.5 marka a year ago, while operating income fell to 8.0 million marka from 9.2 million marka, Sparkasse Bank said in an income statement.

The bank’s assets totalled 893.3 million marka at the end of June.

Sparkasse Bank is based in Sarajevo in the Muslim-Croat Federation, one of the two entities that form Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic. The bank is a unit of Austrian group Steiermaerkische Sparkasse.
