Bosnia's Serb Republic trade deficit up 52% y/y in Jan-Nov

December 23 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic recorded a trade deficit of 1.564 billion marka ($847 million/ 798 million euro) in the first 11 months of this year, compared with a trade gap of some 1.028 billion marka in the same period of 2021, the entity's statistical office said quoting preliminary data.

Exports increased by 24.1% year-on-year in the January-November period, reaching 4.998 billion marka, while imports added 29.8% to 6.562 billion marka, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a monthly report on Thursday.

The Serb Republic's main export destinations in the first 11 months were Serbia and Italy, absorbing 16.5% and 12.8% respectively of the entity's total exports.

The largest importers into the entity were Serbia and Italy, with shares of 17.3% and 16.3% of all imports, respectively.

Bosnia's Serb Republic recorded a trade deficit of 1.152 billion marka in 2021, up 6.8% on the year.

The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Federation.
