SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 22 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Serb Republic consumer price index (CPI) fell by an annual 1.7% in September, after decreasing by 1.2% in August, the entity's statistical office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic edged up 0.1% in September, after losing 0.2% in August, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement.
In annual terms, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 3.6% in September, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages advanced 0.3%, while prices of clothing and footwear fell 10.6%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels remained unchanged.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in September, of 10.8%, was recorded in the transport sector.
The Serb Republic's average consumer price inflation slowed to 0.5% in 2019, from 1.2% in 2018.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
