The gondola lift features 36 cabins, with each cabin able to carry up to 10 persons, OC Jahorina said in a press release on Saturday.

The facility can transport up to 2,700 skiers per hour.

"Apart from the gondola lift, we have built three ski runs which are 5 kilometres long in total", said OC Jahorina CEO Dejan Ljevnaic.

According to an October 12 report of Serb Republic's news agency SRNA, OC Jahorina has agreed to receive 150 million marka support from the government of Bosnia's Serb Republic entity in the next four years to develop four new projects, the head of the company's supervisory board Nedeljko Elek was quoted as saying.

The four projects include two new gondola lifts - from East Sarajevo to Jahorina mountain and from Pale to Jahorina, as well as the construction of a ski centre at Igriste, some 40 km south of Sarajevo, and a smaller ski run at Manjaca, some 40 km south of Banja Luka.

The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
