December 2 (SeeNews) - The management of Bosnia's Mostar airport is holding talks with two low-budget air carriers, with the outcome expected to become known by the end of January, the head of the airport's transport department Marko Djuzel has said.
"The increase of passenger traffic will depend on the outcome of the negotiations," Djuzel said, as seen in a video file published by local news portal Federalna.ba on Sunday.
Earlier this year, local media reported that Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair is in talks for launching flights from Mostar next year.
Mostar airport offers Croatia Airlines' year-round operation to Zagreb, as well as seasonal flights to Germany via low-cost airline Eurowings.
In October, Bosnian media reported that Eurowings is seeking subsidies in order to continue flights to Mostar, after halting the services from Stuttgart and Dusseldorf for Winter 2019/2020. The services will return in May 2020.
Mostar airport is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
